Tea Bag Cookies

Drinking tea is something that I really love. I have grown up drinking that late afternoon tea accompanied by cookies and sandwiches. Sipping a hot cup of tea with my dear hubby, while sitting in our patio is one of the most relaxing times of my day. I am always on the lookout for tea time recipes and that’s how I came across the idea of these Teabag Cookies!!  I had seen these cookies on Pinterest and so I thought why not give them a try.   Tea Bag Cookies(2)

  3. Now add the vanilla essence, egg and whisk again.Tea Bag Cookies Step3
  4. Gradually add the flour a little at a time. Incorporate all the flour. The flour and butter mixture will have a crumpled textureTea Bag Cookies Step 4
  5. Transfer the dough mix on to a cling wrap and the help of the edges of the wrap bring together all the dough mix to the center to form a rectangle or a disk. Press with your hand to form a rectangle with no or little cracks.Tea Bag Cookies Step 5
  6. Refrigerate the dough for atleast 1 hour or until it is firm. Let it sit on the counter (or a floured board)for 5 minutes  then roll the dough lightly with a rolling pin making sure that the dough does not crack.(if it does you can always press the dough together with your hand to join them) Roll out the dough to about 1/8th of an inch.Tea Bag Cookies Step 6
  7. Preheat the oven to 325 degree Fahrenheit. Using a knife cut the dough into rectangles the size of a tea bag. Cut the top corners of each rectangle to make them look like a tea bag. Using a skewer or a toothpick make holes in the cookies for the tea tags.Tea Bag Cookies Step 7
  8. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden. Cool them on a cooling rackTea Bag Cookies Step 8
