Pinwheel Flower Sandwiches
I really love kids but yesterday when I was babysitting my neighbors’ 3 year old for just a couple of hours and realized how difficult it is to feed a young kid. Thankfully my neighbor was back soon.
This reminded me of how many times I have heard my sister lamenting about how hard it is to feed her son. I just love and adore my 2 year old nephew, but he is a picky eater and my sister is always in search of new ways to feed him. Since my nephew loves flowers and nutella (who doesn’t love nutella) I came up with this Pinwheel flower recipe for him and it was an instant hit with him and my sister was happy that she did not have to worry about feeding him atleast for the day 🙂
Ingredients :-
- 2 bread slices
- Nutella /Jam/Peanut Butter for filling
- 5-6 Raspberries
- 1 celery stick/ boiled and seasoned beans
- 1 Orange Slice
- Shredded Lettuce or Cabbage
Steps:
- Trim the crusts off two thin slices of bread. Overlap the edges and flatten with a rolling pin so that they join together.
- Spread the filling of your choice (Nutella/Jam/ Peanut Butter).
- Roll up the bread slices and cut across into thin roundels.
- Now to assemble, on a plate spread some lettuce shreads to form the grass. Make flower stem with thin celery stalk or boiled beans. Place the pinwheel sandwiches on top of the celery stalk to form the flower. Use a round slice of orange to make the Sun. You may also use 2 blackberries and small celery juliennes to make a sheep.
- You can also use butter and jelly, cream cheese or mashed avocado for filling.
I am sure little picky eater will enjoy it 🙂
Stay Cheerful.. Stay flavorful !!!
Having read this I believed it was extremely enlightening.
I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put
this content together. I once again find myself personally spending a significant amount of time both reading and
commenting. But so what, it was still worthwhile!
Just wanted to doblue check – you used coconut cream, not coconut oil? The coconut cream I have from Tropical Traditions is 70% coconut oil and usually recipes for curries use a can of coconut milk.
Ahoy,
Food is the best ever-thing!
